Michael Arndell is the Director of Site Services at the University of Sydney Library. Michael's pronouns are he/him. Michael's qualifications include AssocDip (Library Practice) TAFE NSW BA C.Sturt.

Michael Arndell oversees the Library’s Site Services division which manages frontline information services, circulation and resource-sharing services, unit of study readings and non-digital resources. The division also looks after the Library’s physical environment and study spaces across multiple sites. Through these services, the division delivers a range of study support and engagement activities to enhance the student experience and promote academic success.

He has worked in a range of roles where he has led large teams to engage with the education and research activities of academics. Activities have included developing innovative support services for academic grant applications and promotion activities, developing bots to automate library support services, and harnessing researcher and student analytics to streamline services.

Michael believes that universities – and in particular, university libraries – make the world a better place, which is why he is committed to higher education as a force for research, innovation and learning.
