LGBTQIA+ Artwork Project

We're commissioning artwork celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride to be displayed in our library space.

Calls for expressions of interest

The University of Sydney Libraries will be undertaking a project in 2022 to commission an artwork via a competitive expression of interest process.

If you’re an artist, we’re seeking an expression of interest from you to create a commissioned artwork to be displayed in our library spaces. The two-dimensional work will hang in Fisher Library and will embody themes relating to LGBTQIA+ inclusion.

Submit your expression of interest before 19 April, 2022

Read the full artwork scope and specifications, key elements, timelines and terms and conditions and express your interest.

About the project

The University of Sydney Library has prioritised a strategic program focusing on diversity and inclusion that aims to create a safe and welcoming experience for all members of the community. For the LGBTQIA+ community this has included initiatives such as joining the ACON Welcome Here project, appointing an LGBTQIA+ Liasion Officer and celebrating LGBTQIA+ days of significance. The Library has also decided to commission an artwork for permanent display in a prominent location that talks to LGBTQIA+ issues, celebrates the community and raises awareness among Library visitors.
