University of Sydney Library collections

A rich and diverse collection to support study, teaching and research

Our collections

The University of Sydney Library provides a rich and diverse collection of resources that support and further the teaching and research programs of the University. From rare books and extensive print collections through to wide-ranging electronic resources and research data, these collections provide a scale and depth necessary for a leading research-intensive University.

Electronic resources are licenced for use by all University staff and students irrespective of location and are accessible through the catalogue, Library Search and the Library database pages. Access is also available, under licence, to alumni and other Library and community members.

Most of our print collections are arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System. Collections (books, serials, non-book materials, etc) are housed throughout the Library system according to subject areas. Material is generally available for use by all members of the University of Sydney community.
