This work was a popular compendium of all matters medical. It went through many editions and provides a good overview of the state of medical knowledge in the early decades of the seventeenth century. As for the common practice of blood-letting Barrough has this to say. "If age or weakness doe prohibyte bloudletting, you must use boxing".
