Voltaire's Elements of the philosophy of Newton was the most important and accessible conduit for Newton's new system of natural philosophy in France. Voltaire's admiration for Newton is also evident in his letters on Newton in Letters concerning the English nation (which is included in the Literature section of this exhibition).
