You don't need to register. You can log in to Library Search with your existing UniKey or Community ID and book to view material in the Rare Books & Special Collections reading room.

Why do I need a Rare Books Community ID?

You register here if you want to view material from Rare Books & Special Collections and you do not have a current University of Sydney card.

When you register, we will set you up with a Rare Books Community ID. You use your Rare Books Community ID to log into Library Search and book to view material in the Rare Books & Special Collections reading room.

The first time you visit us, we will complete an ID check to verify your identity.

Your Rare Books Community ID is free of charge and for Rare Books & Special Collections access only. It will not allow you to request or borrow from anywhere else at the University of Sydney. Your Rare Books Community Membership will not give you access to electronic resources. For access to wider Library collections and resources, please apply for a paid Community borrower membership.
