About 

Sign up as a community borrower and enjoy the Library’s collections. You will be able to access Library spaces while the information desk is staffed. Please see our opening hours for more information.  

Borrowing

• Borrow up to 10 items from our general collection.
• Put a hold on up to 2 items at a time.
• Short loan collection items are restricted to University students and staff.

Online resources

You can access most of our online resources through public access computers located in some libraries. Due to licensing restrictions, some items are only available for current University of Sydney students and staff. There is limited access to public computers, so availability cannot be guaranteed.

How to apply

1. Complete the application form.
2. Email university.cards@sydney.edu.au or visit the Student Centre with:
   • your completed application form
   • photo identification such as your driver’s licence, New South Wales Photo Card or passport
   • your online payment receipt
   • a passport- sized photo (if applying by email).
3. Allow 2–3 business days processing time and a minimum of 10 business days at the start of semester. 

Cost

Membership options are: 

• $40 for 3 months
• $80 for 6 months
• $160 for 12 months

Payment can be made using the University's online payment portal.
