Exam Ready

Exam time can be challenging. To support you, the Library has partnered with USU, Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF), Student Counselling Services and others to help you study effectively, keep healthy, connect with others and ace your exams. Events run from the 26th May until the 21st of June.

Weaving Workshops

Come along to Fisher Library, sit, chat and learn weaving techniques from the amazing Indigenous Educators at Koori Kinnections in the Library's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Space. It is the perfect hands-on activity to connect with culture and to relax before the upcoming exam period. 

Munch and Mingle

Hang out with the Library's Peer Learning Advisors and meet other students at this free morning or afternoon tea.

Pomodoro Study Sessions

Join the University Library’s Peer Learning Advisors (PLAs) for Quiet Study with Pomodoros! Our PLAs will coach you through 2 hours of the Pomodoro technique, one of the most effective methods for structuring your study sessions and proven to increase productivity!

Brain Gains with SUS

Take a short study break to refresh your body and mind. Pause, breathe and stretch out your knots and kinks with a relaxing session to get you moving!

Sessions inside or on the rooftop! Snacks provided!

Study in the Great Hall

Have you ever dreamt of studying in the University Great Hall? The doors will be open on Tuesday 3 June from 10:30am-12:30pm, pop in and out as you like. Enjoy the comfort of bean bags and chairs for a quiet and unique study experience, accompanied by gentle music on the pipe organ.

Boardgame Fridays

Come and meet friends (old and new!) at our weekly Welcome Hub boardgame event, hosted by your Peer Support Advisors (PSAs)!

What to expect: Fun and games (think exploding kittens, uno, monopoly deal, pictionary, and more!), a chance to make some new uni friends and free snacks!

Feeling crafty? Join our Peer Support Advisors (PSAs) at our Beads & Braids Event! What to expect:

  • Chill while making beaded bracelets and braids
  • A chance to make some new friends!
  • Celebrate the end of the semester with some fun crafts

Mindful Eating

Are you feeling stressed and turning to food for comfort?

Our Mindful Eating session can help you make better choices that will be nourishing to your body and give satisfaction. Come and join Student Counselling Services to learn how to focus on your body-related sensations, eating experiences, and feelings and thoughts about food. Snacks are provided during the session. 

Exam Ready in our Library spaces

Cup of Care

This semester we will be giving out a Cup of Care - hot drinks and snacks or noodles to keep you going through the evening on Wednesdays in each of our libraries - Fisher, Law, Scitech, Susan Wakil and the Con and also at Camden and the Quarter!

Fruit Handouts and Chill-out Spaces

Look out for staff handing out delicious, free fruit in Library spaces. Make sure to take advantage of our relaxing chillout spaces to take a break!

USU Food Truck at Fisher Library

Fuel your study session with a delicious meal from the USU Food Truck running Monday to Thursday, 2nd to 19th June. Free for all USU Members! 

  • Breakfast - 9am to 10:30am (or until sold out) 
  • Lunch from 12pm (or until sold out)
  • Free drink for Rewards members during lunch 
  • Afternoon snack from 2:30pm to 3pm (or until sold out)
  • Bonus Dinner - Thursdays from 5pm (until sold out)
  • Fisher CafĂ©: $2 regular coffee for all USU Rewards Members from 5pm to 8pm (from 2nd to 20th June) 
  • $3.50 cans of Red Bull 250ml in all USU outlets

  • When studying, remember to take regular breaks to refresh and re-energise. Take a break for up to 30 minutes by using a BRB card so you don't lose your desk. 
 
  • Get a BRB card from our information desks, write the time you leave for your break and place it on the desk, so everyone knows when you'll be returning. Always take your valuables with you.
